iat question/experiemnt

alright...i'm thinking my iat is too high and it's affecting my timing, a/f, and hp. what i want to do is find a way to tap into my iat sensor and read it to see what my intake temps are. what wire do i tap into and what voltage=what temps. i'm also wondering about using the coolant bypass if that's heating up my iat as well or does it pass through the tb before going to the turbo. if it passes through the tb after the turbo it's getting quite a bit of hot coolant to heat iat as well. i might get a little cooler to run after the turbo.

i also just experimented today with wrapping my upper charge pipe with aluminum foil (shiny side out) to help reject heat to maybe prevent heat soak. so far it seems like it's doing it's job, but again i need a way to measure the temp to be sure. i'm looking at wrapping it with insulation and then aluminized tape. i know this is ghetto, but this is homemadeturbo!

give me some input guys and gals.

here try this

and whatever works on the charge pipes go for it.

Good luck reading resistance accurately while there is power flowing across the IAT from the ECU. Current flow tells resistance readings to go get fucked.

Your best bet is to determine it the way the ECU does, by return voltage. If you pop open a Helms manual, there is a temp to voltage returned graph for the IAT... hint hint.
