i want to learn how to make a home made supercharger kit for my car. i want to know if it will be worth it.? dosent a supercharger stay on boost and does not lagg like a turbo.? why dont more people use supercharger/?

Only supercharger that is going to give you no "lag" or elevated boost threshold is a roots type blower. Have fun with that one. Think you need to do some major research into engine/forced induction theory. A well sized turbo will net you a good boost threshold and will make decent power as well.

---- the bullshit i know its homemade TURBO. but damn cant i ask.? i was reading an article on a supercharger that theoldone was selling a waanted to switch my turbo set up for a supercharge one. i don't like the lagg the turbo has and wanted more torque out of my ls/vtec.

its simple, superchargers are not efficent at creating boost. you can get a larger turbo to make 20 psi and the iat will still be relativly low, but a supercharger to blow 20psi would create soo much heat that your iat's would sky rocket. root style blowers are only something like 58% efficent even at low boost pressures, a properly sized turbo can be as much as 78% efficent. so if anything twin charge the bitch. and superchargers use hp to make hp, turbo free hp.

and turbo lag aint that bad.

just think of it as Gods way of giving V8's a chance to catch up. :y

Turbo = Cheaper ;D

LAG is not really the word to use... You're talking about additional power on tap.. Use a smaller turbo like sinister says or use one that better matches your setup

Its a 2003 6.0l, 364ci. 4l80e tranny. Hooker Super Comp Long tube headers, no emissions, no torque management, 4" air intake lol and dual 3" exhaust.

Its not a power house by any stretch but its fun. It has 273 gears in the rear and with that tranny I hit 2nd gear at 115km/h,... then it goes sideways. I have 373's sitting in the garage for it.

if you dont like the lag of the turbo...and turbos create more power...why not just put a small shot on it? 50 shot would be nice and give you a nice lil boost till a nice large turbo spools up.
