I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
Well i bought the TT block fitting for $30 shipped to my house and seeing as how much this thing costed me it was nicely made and it was advertised as 1/8 BSP(t) and 1/8 NPT, BUT heres the catch; i have the SS line and i went out to buy some fittings so i went to my local performance shop and bought a -4an to 1/8 NPT fitting and what do you know it didn't fit... >:(
So on top of that i had to spend another $10 to buy an autometer 1/8 NPT to 1/8 BSPT inorder to fit my original fitting on the line, someone please explain. EDIT: This is what i originally bought... http://nerace.com/miva/merchant.mv?S...egory_Code=AER |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
hmm thats weird.......it should be 1/8th male bspt for the oil sensor and two 1/8 female npt

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
yup, i tried the claimed NPT side port and it obviously didn't fit so i tried the BSPT end port and it didn't fit, and so i took off the plug for the final port on the other side and you guessed it; didn't fit. I thought it was the fitting so we got another one from another brand made out of steel and same thing. I am glad it now all fits but i still want a reason for this 'false advertisement'? I only call it that because it seems to me like all 3 female ports are all BSPT. ???

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
Well did you try and talk to Craig at Tuner Toys about this first?
|
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
I just used one with my install and didn't have any problems?!?! Talk to Craig I'm sure he will figure it out, he was real helpful when I was purchasing items form TT. Don't just post up and bash them without trying to talk him. They have some great prices and and shipped me some u bends hella fast so give him a chance to figure it out...Matt

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
uh huh they are all BSPT's cause my NPT fittings did not fit, that didn't really explain much. I don't mean to sound like i'm bashing.

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
I installed mine a few days ago and it was perfect.

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?

Yeah same here. When I used them I didn't have a problem with fittings at all. And its not like these are one off customs pieces that would make each one different. I'd imagine that the fittings were wrong, not the block fitting |

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
I've never had any problems with them, but with any custom machined part there is always a chance that not 100% of them would be perfect. It's a reality, but the best thing to do is Pm/Email Craig. He will always do what it takes to make a customer happy. If you don't believe me, email him and find out. ;)

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
I have one on my setup just like everyone else and it works no problem.
Maybe you got one that was a defect? Stan |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
i was thinking it might be my fitting as well, but i thought maybe you TT accidently drilled out all BSPT's for every port because i did have to buy an NPT to BSPT fitting to make it work. You think craig could do anything to help this situation? i don't think there is much he can, its not like i'm gonna return it now since i already bought the extra fitting and most of you all seem to find it to work good. Lets just call this a heads up or customer feedback on my TT fitting. ;)

Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
If you would have just given him the chance, I know he would have sent you another one. If he didn't, I'd send you one.
There were some haters on HT talking ---- about the fittings that had never even had any experience with one and Craig said he'd send one free of charge to the biggest hater so they could try it out. Now that's a no ---- business man. ;) |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
nah i'm cool no refund necessary i know you guys are entrapaneurs, and running a business, all i care about right now is just that it all works out now and to have you guys make something like this to help out the community. btw ---- H-T i don't ever go on there lol just HMT. Try to see this as a thread for some noob to search up if they get the similar problem as me. The autometer fitting is the 2269 metric fitting (2512-765). It may have sound like i was bashing TT but i wasn't, just a little uncomfortable at FIRST it costed me $45 just for fitting and the other two :P :) ;D.

Oh and lets not forget how your 4an feed lines blow out turbo seals and are the cause of all your turbo smoking issues ::) |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
hahaha, I talked to a guy the other day that told me "that tuner toys oil line kit has too big of a feedline and will make your car smoke." I told him that it was actually my kit and that tuner toys is actually my main distributor (and my main man ;)) and he started backpeddling. lol "No, I think it's a great kit". ::) I'm not even sure the guy had the kit. :-\
and then another guy asked me "Are you that Stealthmode guy???" lol. Oh, it's been a fun week. O0 |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
Here's a perfect example of the stupidity and commercialization of H-T: http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1170595
I bought a kit from him. Had the kit all on, started it up, and it smoked like a bitch. I call him up and he says "You probably have too much oil pressure from the -4an line I sold you....but amazingly I have this little restrictor valve that should fix you right up, Visa or Mastercard?"... Haha, nice product and customer service, I just felt worked over after that. I would just go fast-turbo.com, with a -3an line you have nothing to worry about. Isn't it amazing the dumbasses in this world ::) Also don't forget the prettier the weld the more HP it will make |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
Damn it well my car is gonna blow up cause I'm using stealthmode oil lines, a TT block fitting and some ugly ass welds!!!
Ha ha ha jk |
Re: I thought the Tuner Toys block fitting was BSPT and NPT?
Hurry, everyone PM me for a refund. :D
I got a kick out of that kid on HT. As an oil line retailer, I will always suspect the turbo seals & drainline placement before I would ever say "IT MUST BE SMOKING BECAUSE OF THE -4 FEEDLINE I SOLD YOU" ::) :-\ Now if I could just get the restrictor valves to fail, I could come up with the feedline is too big, you need a restrictor valve, the restrictor valve ?????, you need ?????. :P This is actually the fun part of being in business. |
