I qualify for dumbass of the year

I was having trouble with oil leaking from my twin turbo civic. I tried everything, 20w50 oil, needle valves and all. I was going to do a single turbo kit tonight on it until I got the seals repaired. I looked at the bottom turbo and it was leaking like a ----------er. Go figure I never tightened the bolts that connect the turbine to the center section. I tightened the 4 bolts and the car is fine. Now it doesn't look like the car is on fire after I'm done driving.

It is definitely true, 'the simplest solution is probably the correct one.'

I thought that posting it would help people to remember not to forget the little things. I'm always looking out for other HMT members at the expense of my dignaty ;). I fabricated a whole turbo kit from scratch and the only thing wrong with it was I didn't torque down the 4 little bolts after I rotated the housing.

Re:I qualify for dumbass of the year

here's my latest idiot moment, my 89 supra turbo has been running piss-poor for the past few weeks, i've been thinking it may have been a clogged injector or bad coil pack or something because it would dump fuel and bog out real bad when any load was on the motor. this morning, however, i decide to get off my lazy butt and pull the plugs... 1 2 and 3 have some major deposits on them, plug wires 1 2 are cracked and have oil on them so I decide to go get wires and plugs, well being in Arkansas no parts stores carry wires for this car so scratch that i don't care, then the plugs i get are 13/16ths instead of 5/8ths on the socket portion and they will not fit into the plug hole with a socket on it, sheesh, ok get the right plugs and button it up and i notice my charge pipe is loose... that has been the problem the whole time, i was so mad but at least i figured it out ::)
sorry for the length :P
