my turbo project is finished at last ill post pics later..

my setup:
d14z2 1.4iS 99 Civic
t3 .42 .48 - 8psi
log type manifold - tig welded
crappy charge pipes
type s knockoff BOV
custom downpipe 2" all the way with no muffler
Tunertoys 450cc
SAFC 2
Stealthmode oil line firewall kit and restrictor
boost, oil temp, oil pressure gauges
retarded manually 2 degrees at the dizzy

FMIC, mandrel bend charge pipes and catchcan on the way...

car is running good, no detonation i can hear of.. safc settings may be set a little rich at the moment cause i dont want to go lean and blow the engine.. it will be wideband and egt tuned in about a week or so..

though i have a problem; the car runs good in first gear but in 2nd and 3rd it bogs and doesnt perform as good as in first gear.. my spark plugs are not regapped yet that may be a reason for this to happen but i had missfire in the past when NA and the car doesnt feel like doing the samething.. any other opinions on why this is happening other than the spark or running rich?

all the pics look good so far. your car looks good too. as for the misfiring in 2nd and up gears it's probably your spark plugs. they should be gapped at .030 and you vafc settings are probably too rich, that'll definately cause it to misfire.

Not a bad HMT kit.The crush bent charge pipes are def classic.I to would recommend trying some plugs first.

i figured out that the problem is mostly running rich.. though my settings are at -%44 now.. i was afraid that would be too low but then i figured out that d14z2 s dont have 240 cc injectors like the other 1.4 liters have (i.e. d14a4).. thats why i have to run lower settings..
i will not push the car hard till i get it wideband tuned..

and i have another question:
does the settings in the afc differ if the same size injectors are saturated or peak and hold?
