I got a hx30w for a great price but if i put it on my d16 when should i expect to start boosting I have been told about 3-4k i should.

What was that based on? Did they do an air flow reading of your engine in the configuration it will be in including all head work and exhaust? If so, the Holset HX30w is supposedly about halfway between a T3 .60 and a Te04 .57. On a 1.6 L, you're gonna need a big exhaust and dp to get that thing spooling under 4-5K. Whatever you can do to increase the airflow through the engine will help, so think about head work, a new intake or open up yours and get a bigger TB. That, or get a more reasonable sized turbo for a 1.6 L engine. It all depends on where/how you want the power. But without additional info, I'd guess that bitch ain't spooling up till at least 5K.

i have a mild port and and ill be running 3 inch exhaust. did a port match on the intake runners. its a z6 head. I also have dished piston. 8.7 to 1
