Default hows this flange work?

ok im confused on the flange that the dp goes onto the compressor housing...the turbo is a garett gt17 off a sab (.42/.4.........kinda hard to describe but the lip/edge of the hole is slanted...when the studs fit over the bolt holes to mount the dp,do they not slide all the way down or what?hopefully this makes sense and im just stupid for asking...

also, the port to go into the dp,is 2.20" so whats the point in running a 3in dp like ive been told to?

you need to flare the end of the exhaust pipe like a bell and get the right flange to clamp it together.

Even though its only 2.2inch outlet a bigger exhaust will decrease the pressure after the turbo and help spool and everything
