How in the world did this return line work?????

OK a friend of mine turbo'd his civic and for his oil return line he had like i think 3ft hose and he conneted one end to the turbo and then looped the hose around his radiator support and then to the oil pan.. and it worked with not smoking or problems..

Now iam asking how didi this work and i thought it had to be gravity fed back to the pan.. and the way he looped it gravity isnt going to work there..

Also is there pressure actually helping the oil return to the pan

Even if it isnt smoking, he can say goodbye to his seals in his turbo soon

my first kit had a return that looped from the turbo forward to the rad support then curved back to the pan, it also worked fine.

but it did have a pretty steady downhill the whole way.

I plan on fixing mine soon, but mine right now loops around in front of the downpipe and down to the oil pan. No problems, smoking, or high oil pressure readings yet. It does have a steady downward slope to it too though.
