???sup guys i'm trying to rebuild this t3 i got f4m a volvo (airsearch).now i'm not trying to become a turbo tunner or anything just trying to learn how a turbo works in and out so i can learn how to improve on it(now is this the definiton of a turbo tunner???..lol :)???))i heard there are kits out there.how much??? are they worth the hassle?? ??? thanx any input will be great.

kits range from 90-200$ (cdn) these rebuild kits are for oil seals, and dont include bearings. (depending on the rebuild kit u buy)

rip it apart its really easy.

don't break the bolts off in the turbo when you do it... pain in the ass!

oh, put some anti-seeze on those fuckers when you put it back together...

If you disassemble the turbines the nut holding the air turbine will have to be retorqued(all the turbos have different specs)and the whole thing rebalanced.If you don`t do this it will not last very long. Spinning at 80,000 RPM the turbines will shake the bearings out in no time, the worst case I have seen the shaft snapped in half and destroyed the housing. My advice is get it rebuilt professionally.

Best thing to do here is buy a new core for your turbo..
They are factory balanced / torked, e.t.c. you can find them on ebay and they ballpark around $125.00 ;)
