How much boost on an HF manifold?
It's a pretty odd question, but I just wondered how much boost do you think the HF manifold can take before it becomes ineffecient. If theres a 3" DP, do you think it's possible to run too much boost on a manifold? Meaning can air become backed up? I'd like to see 22psi on HF manifold and external wastegate (welded on) just wondered if it was possible. Thanks

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
wtf 22psi?? if your gonna shell out 2g's (at least, if you do it yourself) to get your motor built and sleeved to handle that boost then why ---- around with a $40 exhaust manifold. the external wg will cost ya at least $200 (unles you get a shitty saab one), you can have one custom built for $400ish or buy a log style for $200-300.

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
I've got everything except the manifold, but I have an HF manifold with an external gate. I don't have the money to get a custom one built right now. I would think an HF would flow just as well as a log.

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
you have an engine that will handle 22 psi?

yes

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
why dont you use the HF manifold for 10 psi. and save for a better manifold for 22psi....or try the HF manifold out at 18psi, 20 psi, 22psi...etc...see how it runs.

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
what have you done to the block to make it handle 22psi? sounds like a pretty badass setup

Re:How much boost on an HF manifold?
22psi in the intake is going to be somewhere around 40psi in the ex. manifold... I bet the HF would take it !! But not better than a custum one...
