Default How much boost can it take.

well as the topic says how much boost can it take. Me jake and jay are building a groupe track car for this comming summer and are going hmt style with a ls/vtec and block fill. it will have forged pistons and rods from weiscon and eagle. but what I am wondering is how much will the sleeves take with the block fill in it. I know this may sound crazy but we were thinking of trying for like 35 or 40psi and of course tunned with 112 octane. has anybody broke the sleeves with the block fill yet. if so what psi was it and was it tuned good. so what do you guys think.

If you don't eliminate detonation, your motor won't last long. No forged anything or sleeves can handle detonation for long. I can't see anyone being able to contain detonation on a Ls/Vtec at 40 psi of boost other than a pro-team with insane amounts of cash to invest on super-duper expensive tunning equipment and hardware.

youll need more than 112 octane for that buddy, cam2 wont cut it.

secondly, youd need to monitor individual cylendar activity and such. bottom line 40 psi would last about half a dyno pull.

ok so what do you guys think it could take detnoatino free of course this will not be street driven. we are looking to run 10's with a 93 civic ex with a complete weight reduction and roll cadge.car will probably be a round 2000lbs. also this will not be a cheap build completely lol. we are doing head work gt35 turbo I belive a 60mm waste gate. and such all the goodies that should be needed.I see guys running 28 pis all the time. I mean just check. central florida turbo those guys are getting like almost 600whp on like 25 or 28 psi. and daily driven. so what maybe 30psi? little more?

you should be hitting 10s at 25psi with a 2000lb car. dont shoot too high or it'll just go boom.
