How to make LS rods fit?

I can get a set of LS rods for $100. What do I need to do in order to use these with my D16? The little end needs to be re-bushed but what is the deal with the wrist pins? People have said I need to use floating pins but how do you actually make those stay in the pistons? Do you need a groove machined in the pistons as well???

The other thing is that the width needs to be machined down and the block notched? At some point the cost of machining will exceed the price for some eagle rods.

the big end needs to be shaved 1 mm on each side i believe. i did the measurements on them a while ago (it may have been 1 mm all together, a 1/2 off each side) your machinest will have no probelms doing the work.

if you want the extra set i have, you can have them for half of what your paying now.

as for the bushings, there is a thread on the alternative honda site about it, and crower makes the bushings you need. they are less than 10 dollars each.

How much to have them shipped to Canada. (Ottawa, Ontario K1C 5B8). Don't forget my $100 is about $70USD.

I just looked through the entire crower website. I couldn't find any bushings do you have a part number or website? Also, still wondering about the press fit versus floating pin issue.

hey, i'm planning on upping my boost and it was suggested that i invest in a set of these only thing is i havent done any research on them yet, will they alter the compression ratio of a DOHC ZC, would changing the pistons also be advisable? and if i decide to go for some how much would you want to ship them to the UK? PM me if you are interested

Cheers

the part is not listed on othe site.

go to the alternative honda site; i believe the size of the bushing is listed and possibly the part number. i would do it for you, but i am extremely lazy.

I looked around and didn't have any luck. It seems to me that given the cost of machining the rods and all that it's juse as worth it to forget the LS rods and pick up a set of eagle econos.

With the eagles, you'll still have to notch the block, but it isn't too bad if you have a dremel and an hour or so. I would say just get the eagles. It seems like it may be easier vs. the machining costs of the ls rods.

If you need some Eagles let me know :)

50 beans for ls rods, and maybe 100 dollars in machine work, is much cheaper than eagle rods.
