How to make log style manifold?
 

i've seen many people selling log style manifolds, and some people showing their finished products...
how do i go about making my own log style manifold? what materials do i need? is any welder ok? (TIG, MIG, Arc?)
any help would be appreciated...i want to make my own, and keep my AC! lol

mig will work fine.
just get the weld end schedule 40 long radius 90's and the T's to match. you will have to modify them slightly, using a grinder or zipcut. it is preferable to bevel the edges back to what they come with (usually 30 degrees to make an included angle of 60 degrees with very small land) this will offer you maximum penetration so your manifold doesn't crack out. once you've got them fitted properly to your flange (which i recommend taking to a machine shop and having match ported to your exhaust gasket on a CNC machine, otherwise you'll have to cut it out with an oxy acetalyne torch or some other means..)

weld the whole thing together then cut out a port for your turbo flange to mate up to, this is where you start to get options as to how you mount your turbo, you can use schedule 40 tubing or even exhaust tubing to extend the port to the flange however is convenient for you.
