how to lower psi on T25????

jus another newbie question i was hoping someone could help me with. i want to run only 5psi on my T25 setup on a D16Z6 in a 92 civic hatch, how do you do this? i have read that the stock psi on the T25 is like 8psi. do you shorten the arm for the wastegate or lengthen it? i've heard two different things so i jus wanna do it right so i dont blow my high mileage stock engine. and one more stupid newbie question; what do you classify as a "chipped ecu"? i was told to ditch my plans to use a FMU with DSM 450 injectors and use a chipped ecu and the 450's. what would i look for in an ecu and where would i buy one, how much? can i jus buy a chip and install one myself? i see that there are some on ebay but i am assuming they are crap. any help anyone could give would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much ;D

tsk tsk tsk..... I do agree, do a little more research next time. However, I'll give you a start.... Elongating the wastegate arm just means boost spool-up will take longer(you will drop peak boost a bit but the lag will make it not worth it). Shortening it means you will over boost because the WG can't open up fully enough to leak off excess boost(and yes will raise the peak boost a little bit). What you need to do is go to a junk yard and pull another wastegate actuator from a car that has a lower boost level than what you've got now. A chipped ECU is just that, it has been socket'd to accept a programmed chip. You can buy them off Ebay, here on HMT from some Sponsors like Xenocron, HMT members in the"For Sale" section or any where else, Including buying the chipping kit from Xenocron and soldering it in your self. Your new to HMT sure, and props to your for wanting to learn to do this stuff yourself instead of paying someone else to do it for you... but there's no excuse for reading and research ;)

read a little more buddy, but i've learned that if you take the actuator off the turbo and crush the arm that holds the actuator to the turbo about 1/4" it'll lower boost about to 5-6 psi, but it i dont recomend it, mine is at stock, but i just dont let it get to 8 lbs...

a stock ecu, 450's and a fmu= very very rich, lucky if it even runs :1

Please read (ignore the integra/b-series specific stuff):

http://www.beesandgoats.com/boostfaq/g2icturbo.html

It will answer a lot of questions that you haven't even asked yet.

btw,

Chipped + Injectors + Fuel Pump
or
AFC Hack + Injectors + Fuel Pump
or
FMU + Check Valves

As highroller said:

Stock ECU + 450's + FMU = very very VERY rich.

450's need to be underfed by Using AFC Hack or a chipped ECU.
