about 20 hours for me. that included afc, gauges, fuel, coolant, and oil lines...everything. did it over the course of a week a couple hours each night and then 2 5 hour days on the weekend.

you have to keep in mind that I"m making everything, like my manifold, and charge pipes too. I already have a CAI, but everything else i'm making, and welding it together..fun fun :-\ Where is my ECU anyways? I have a 93 civic coupe.

Re:how long can I expect on my first turbo install?

I'm planning on doing my final install over a 3 day period (Friday night through Sunday night):

Day 1 is getting the BOV and oil pan fitting welded in place. Maybe start the install if time permits.

Day 2 is the full setup. Turbo, Intercooler, charge pipes etc... (at this point, I have everything test fitted—gauges and V-AFC installed). Start up to commence that afternoon/evening. Fix mistakes and oversights as needed.

Day 3 is to fix any additional mistakes early. Afternoon/evening I would have a downpipe made and be wideband/dyno tuned.

That's the plan so far. But by far, I just plan on taking my time and enjoying the work, because that's 1/2 the reason I'm into this in the first place.

As far as your ECU and AFC, the ECU should be under the glovebox, right in front of the passenger side door (behind the carpet). It's not really that hard to install, just take your time and make 100% sure you have everything wired up correctly when you go to put your ECU back in place. I got a little freaked and took the whole thing apart to double check just cuz I wanted to make absoultely sure that I did a good job. Plus, the manual shows things kind of backwards from how you will really look at it, so just go one wire at a time, solder it, heat shrink it, triple check that it's right and move on to the next. I did end up finding one mistake but otherwise, it went pretty smooth.

Overall, it took me two days, but that was also wiring in 3 gauges and a full pod... And I'm fucked when it comes to electronics. ;D

Ok here's a question for a first time turbo install, what all should I do to pull my A/C - this is definately something I can do in advance. I know the fan and the whole front assembly has to go but what else?

Re:how long can I expect on my first turbo install?

I would do it before hand... I wasn't sure what I was going to get into when I started mine, but it's pretty much a self contained unit except where it plugs into the firewall. Pretty easy, just time consuming.

Just take out everything that's "connected" to it and you'll be fine. There's a compressor or condenser, a belt and electrical connector ----. Take it all out.
