How To: HMT 2Timer..................(thumbnails)

Cheap way to switch between two programs when you have a 64K (512) ROM. Turn off ignition before swtiching programs.

First start off with 2 machine pin sockets

Pull pin 1 from one of the sockets. This will be the bottom socket. Pin 1 is the bottom left pin, when the notch is to the left.

Solder a piece of wire to pin 1 on the top socket and put the two sockets together and you have a super cheap 2timer.

The wire will go to a dip switch and from the switch to ground and 5V.

When the switch is to ground, the program will be the lower address bin, 0000H - 7FFFH.

Other version exactly like the moates product, so you can just use a regular switch that goes to ground. Uses a pull-up resistor.

This is the same as this product:

This would leave pin 1 floating or low depending on the switch then correct? So the only last thing that would be needed to duplicate the moates is drop a 1.0K ohm resistor between pin 1 and pin 28 for a pull-up, leaving you with a true high or low? that's my guess for the reason there is a resistor on their boards, I wouldn't see any other use for it.

Good point. High Z probably wouldn't be the most predictable thing to have. DIP switches work good for that though.

I'll show one with the pull-up resistor too, since most people won't have a DIP switch.

Haha, that's what someone else said. He said no one is responding cause it's not a turbo timer. OKay, I'll see if I can make a super cheap, easy to make turbo timer.

New pics are up.

So have you tested the pull-up? Was pin-28 the right pin to use? Just checkin before I try one of these out.

Thanks

That is actually pin 1.

And yes it's correct. Pin 1 is A15, which is the highest address pin.

I meant is pin-28(VDD) the correct pin to pull the 5V pull-up from, or does it ---- with anything to use that pin. That is all.
Stupid question, but oh well

Thanks
