reliably, id say youre at it
mines rapping out to 7200 and loves it...def make more power higher, but you need to be a baller or a fool to take a stock ls to 8k.

I capped one of my tuning customers out at 7000 to be safe...7200 is pushing it probably.

His powerband was definitely still climbing hard at 7000 still, but the torque curve was headed downhill pretty quick.

7200 at the most for reliability. My old b18a saw 7500 every once and a while and seemed ok, but my friend's b18a saw 7500 and tossed a bunch of rocker arms off :P

It's a real shame that honda didn't design the b18's with the rocker arm design they used on the b16's. :-\ All you'd have to do really is replace your springs and rape it to 8k all day ;D

there are plenty of ls motors that have gone well past the 9k mark. The ls motor was the choice of builders back in the 90's and0.

My B16 is totally stock and I rev it to about 86 or 87k all the time. I have my shift point setup for the track at about 8850. About a month ago I raised my limiter from 8200 to 8900 and presto, I got my first 12 sec. 1/4. LOTS more power up there! but I don't know how long it will live. It's running fine up till now...I rarely rev it past 7000 on the street, by that time most of the ricer kids around here are long behind me... ;D

i had my rev limit set at 7400 for a while and hit it on occasion with no probs. from what i understand, 7500 or so is gettin up there and i personally wouldnt go past it, these damn rocker arms could be designed better, oh well, dsm owners feel the pain too haha
