How do sidemounts perform?

Is a sidemount intercooler good enough to start out with? I already have one and know im going to upgarde to a fmic. But will it be sufficient for the initial install?

The search button is your friend, but use what you have.

they are ok to start with but nothing to get all excited about. Its better than running no ic. Some sidemounts like the suprea and I think flow better than the dsm and vws (don't quote me on the vw). IMO if you're going to run a set of ic pipes you night as well wait and just do front mount setup. No point in doing it twice

They work fine for low boost levels. Only thing that is kinda a pain is making the charge pipes up twice. Also the sidemounts don't always have nice large ends like an aftermarket FMIC have.

Ill sell you a I/C off my Daytona Shelby for 50 bucks. They flow fairly good.

I know it will perform alright since it was engineered for the turbo im using...so the only thing is the i/c piping to re-route, but i love to work on my car, gotta always have a project going or i get drunk to often.
