How do I remove the turbine housing?
 

I've been at this all evening. This is a stock DSM T25. I got the compressor housing and wheel off with no problems, but the damn turbine housing won't come off. I got all the bolts and the C-clamp things off, but it just won't pop out.
I soaked it in Liquid Wrench for a couple hours.
I tried heating it with a torch... but maybe not enough?
I tried a pipe wrench and a vice.
I tried a 3lb sledge and the vice.

So far I've been real careful and haven't hurt anything. I really don't need the turbine housing, but I've gotta get the CHRA off. What's the trick?

I used a spare tire jack to get this godamn ct26 apart, haha it was quite a sight.

I must have been half-asleep this morning, because on my third whack after soaking all night in Liquid Wrench, I hit the compressor-side baseplate and knocked off a good chunk. Scratch one CHRA... it's a paperweight now. But I've still got to get the turbine housing off so I can get the turbine wheel and shaft.

So, I think the answer might be...
Heat.. and lots of it.
Slide hammer (perhaps?)

I'll try anything.

I use a thick ass brass punch.

After the turbine bolts are all out, I clamp the turbine housing really well into a vice, and start tapping on the CHRA all around where it meets the turbin housing.

I also tap on the back of the baseplate little by little to try to loosen it up.

You have to use a big hammer, and don't be afraid to really put some muscle into it. lol

And once you get one side to pop out a bit, make sure you tap on the other side so it doesn't get bound up.

So you broke the baseplate? Is the compressor wheel still good? You should be able to replace the baseplate without having to junk the whole CHRA.
