Re:how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
My idle surges from 1 grand to 1500 grand after I take my rpms past 4500, plus MY check engine light comes on. I really need to know more about check valves because I think that I bought to wrong thing. Plus I don't know where my MAP sensor is ???

Re:how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
when i used checkvalves i got mine from petsmart..i opted for the more expensive tetra ones ...you will also need some fish tank brass tees and some 1/8 vacume line..put in line with the map with the check valves set to blow out..that way on vacume they shut off..they will blow off the excess boost before it reaches the map..you may have to add three to five to get it to work right.

Re:how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
could you please show me a picture of the check valve setup?

Re:how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
This isn't my setup. I do have pics, but none of my check valves. If you want I can take pics. In my kit I opted for the metal check valves. The plastic tetra ones I had literally blew the top right off creating a huge vacuum leak the first night I had them on.

POWER BY TETRA! thats it...cept i never had a prob with my tetra ones even at 10 psi..just got tired of explaining the fish valve setup..plus it bleeds off boost.

i noticed idle surge back in the day when i rocked check valves, but only when it was cold out... it makes sense, just an annoyance.. do it right and chip and get injectors.. theres plenty of bins out there id rock any day over an fmu. even if ur too cheap to tune. |
Re: how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
well at least you obiously searched, lol, this thread is older than dinosaur ----. are you're check valves all run in series? theres really no reason that you should need 12, and shopping at a pet store for turbo related equiptment probably isnt such a goog idea IMO. There really is no excuse to chip ur ecu and run some sort of real management, moates sells the chip kit for $15.

Re: how do I hook up check valves, and what are they. yes, I checked the FAQ
Ok this may sound dumb but wouldnt a missing link be more effective and economical to use than 12 check valves. I mean you only need one right ? I see them going for like $20 shipped. IMO if i were to ever boost a honda i would go the chipped ecu route, chipping kits are so cheap for hondas and every one sells them, you try looking for a chipping kit for a toyota ecu. Lmao
