Or spray some oil in it. Maybe some WD-40.

Yeah, that's what I meant, after you cleaned it. I don't know about drainO. CLR would be faster and probably better IMO. DrainO takes a long time to take action. You would have to soak it for a long time.

Yes, coolant will prevent corosion.

clr should remove most of the loose rust in there.

dont worry it wont screw anything up.
