how to check if your turbo is getting oil?

Well, my turbo's a rear mount so I was really concerned about whether it was getting oil or not so I modified a glass fuel filter by removing the filter and drilling out the holes a little larger. I then installed it on the return line just before it returned to the motor as seen in the photo below. My feed line has a 1/8" brass needle valve to regulate oil flow. I can adjust it while I watch the return to regulate the amount of flow I want, works great.
MORE INFO on your needle valve!

You can see the feed needle valve and oil pressure sending unit in the bottom right of this photo. I currently have the feed coming from the filter sandwich plate to a Tee with the pressure gauge sending unit, then to the needle valve, then all the way back to the rear into the turbo. Out of the turbo through a scavenge pump then back up to the sight glass then into the pass. side valve cover.
One thing I am planning to change is to swap the needle valve and pressure sending unit. This way I can monitor the pressure after the needle valve to make sure it doesn't go to high. Right now I can just see the actual pressure coming from the motor which gets up to 70-80 psi at high RPM. I would rather know what it is at the turbo. Changing this should also let me know if the scavenge pump fails as the pressure would shoot up.

yeah but thats exactly what the guy was wondering. the title of the thread was "how to check if your turbo is getting oil". he will be fine if he just takes the drain off and cranks the engine. as for flow and pressure all you need is a .06 restrictor
