Hood vents and scoop's
1 Attachment(s)
Hey all. did a search on the forum and didnt find anything similar nor did a find any hood scoop's/vents on any honda's..
Personally i hate them as they always look rice. but i had a HOT spot on my hood so i thought if i cut a hole and let the hot air out it would help the situation but now after its been on the car for two weeks i think i might have messed with the air flowing over the engine\made the problem worse.. is summer here in Africa no so i dont know if im imagining it. has anyone played with hood vents/scoop's/design? start the flaming! helpd alot. Everyone is telling me the vent should be furthest to the back, but i said no ---- that. the vent must go where the hot spot is in the hood! get the hot air out! |

Re: Hood vents and scoop's
the reason old muscle cars have cowl hoods is cause they are not aerodynamic. i'm pretty sure that having a reverse scoop on your newer import will not do anything. it might suck some of the hot air out, but if having the hood already like that is not helping then i don't think another vent in the hood would.

Re: Hood vents and scoop's
I put a Trans Am fender vent backwards on my hood to let heat escape. For pics look at my build thread in my sig.
|
Re: Hood vents and scoop's
the primary purpose of front spoilers, undertrays and bonnet exit vents is to lower the pressure build-up inside the engine bay, so increasing the pressure differential across the heat exchangers

hood = sucks. the air is meant to flow down infront of the firewall. blockoff everything but the radiator and intall a plastic undertray that extends back a foot and a half. |
