Default HOLSET H1C different variations and twin scroll exhaust questions

I've recently picked up 2 holset H1C turbos for my ka24de and my bro's straight 6 mustang . I picked up the first one off of ebay and it's used... when I got it, i realized just how big these things are.. it's great. Then I got the second one... I got it brand new but for pretty cheap, but it's way smaller than the first....

the first turbo - 3" v-band exhaust, 4 ish inch intake, 2" compressor out
Second turbo - 2.25" intake, 2" compressor out, 2.5" exhaust

They're both h1c's though.

My question is, even though the second one is so much smaller than the first, is it still a well suited turbo for 400 hp on a ka24de?

Second - they're both twin scroll exhausts and I don't have a twin scroll manifold. I think it was **** that was talking about blocking off one half of the flange and it will spool way faster.... like jeff's ZC project.

is there anything else I need to do to make that work? if there any drawbacks to plugging half the exhaust?

First turbo next to a .48 .60 t3

Here are some pics of the SECOND turbo mocked up on the ka24de... yes I know... ssauto wastegate... but i'll be running an overboost protector so it's all good. http://www.ka-t.org/overboost.htm

As long as you have a manifold with an open flange large enough to match the twin scroll turbine size, nothing else is needed. Just treat it like any regular turbo.

i swear just yesterday I saw a thread where **** was talking about how it would have been impossible to spool a 1.00 ar t4 on a 1.6 without doing this.. bla bla bla....

****'s answer was based on the fact that the turbo is too large for a 1.6 liter engine. That's why he suggested blocking off one of the ports to make the turbo spool much quicker. You already know about this because you mention it before asking your question. You will need a special flange/gasket to make it work. So, with that aside, nothing else is needed if you are going to use the turbo.

just use a normal open flange instead of a split t3 flange unless your gonna make a manifold and have certain runners run to one side and so on otherwise it's useless.

i have an h1c with a bullseye 8cm on a 2.0 3tc corolla engine and i start seeing boost at 2800 rpm's
