Don't know jack ---- about Ford 2.3's, huh? They weigh about 2400-2800 at most, same as the Pigtegras and the stupidcoupe Civics. The stock block 2.3T holds 400 whp without complaint, and since the 2.3T uses an (ultrasonically checked at the factory) NA block you can imagine how stout the NA 2.3 is.

Best bet is to find an 84-88 2.3 turbo donor car. Mustang SVO, Thunderchicken, Merkur XR4ti. The 84-86 cars had the desireable .60 trim T3, and the 87-88 Thunderbird had the best MAF and ECU. An engine harness from a Merkur XR4ti is your best bet for a clean, easy wiring install as the engine harness threads through the dash and has the ECU plugs, and very simple power/ground hookups. It doesn't have to be spliced and fooled with like the other harnesses.

turboford.org is a great place to check, like mikeflys1 said, and there is also a Yahoogroups mailing list for turbo Ranger pickup trucks... great place to get your need to know info on swapping NA 2.3 for turbo, or just bolting the turbo and electronics onto the NA engine.

Did I say turbo? Did I say the motor was weak? Did I say it wasn't capable of making ---- for power? Where did you pull that one from? ::) Any motor can make power with a turbo. In stock form it is exactly as I described. Nice try though smart guy..........
