anyone have any experience with turboing a 1.6L dohc 90' miata? like how well do these engines hold up to boost and is there any issues with boosting them

might be fun i was thinking, rwd + cant way more then a old hatch

f' it i did my research. bsaicly im gona wreck it if i get it, sounds like the back end will rip apart, replace with a rx7 one, then the engine will rip apart at 250hp. sweet. rwd at least

The 1.6L blocks are strong as ****. Boost it - without a doubt. I plan on getting a miata and boosting it in the next year or so.

I want one too, I dont care if its a 'chiks' car, they are so much fun to drive.

 

I saw one with some jdm fender flares and a hard top all black, looked like a race car, changed my mind a bit about the homoness.

 

A turbo should wake that car up nice. Go for it.
