Hmm External WG vs Internal Gate

Im thinking about what do upgrade on the accord for next year (shes in storage) and im thinking about going from my piss poor internal wastegate to external (possibly Tial 35 or 38 mm) is it worth it performance wise to upgrade? Also can you use a flange meant for an external wg (see pic) and drill a hole where the wg flapper hole is for the internal wastegate and run a short pipe from the flange to the external wg instead of welding a flange on the manifold?

if you use that last idea of yours you arent gaining much at all unless you port the wg passage

Well i was thinking of somthing like this... i cant imagine that porting the exaust housing will be a big deal, it should be pretty easy. Im just wondering if its worth it or not, in terms of boost control and eliminating lag and making the turbo spool quicker

well i cant see it having any effect on lag, but if you port it out like a mofo (the bigger the hole, the better the wg will work) it should be ok

As GT said, your going to have to port the ---- out of that hole on the turbine housing. I'd just do it convential style and do it somewhere on the manifold, preferably on the merge collector somewhere.
