high comp turbo build help...

okay i have a d15b7 block with a y8 head wit y7 internals
the compression is around 10.7-10.9: 1
and im running a t3/t04e turbo
at around 7-10 psi with a custom ramhorn.
im using 450's injectors and crome chipped

i need some insight at where i would have the timing at and if the compression is too high to run on 91 octane im looking to run around 10.8-11.2 a/f form low vac going onto boost
and keeping timing around the same as stock maybe retarding it a couple degrees

any help will be great.....
P.S no nooobs answer!!!!!! i dont wanna hear your
* dont go past 200whp
* be conservative
* make sure your tuner know what he's doing
* make sure you dont detonate

alright? so any help would be awesome thanks in advanced

where is it at now? i have tuned a couple 10:1 cars but they were Bs i wanna say i was around 12-15* of timing in boost rpm dependent. this was on 93 oct not 91. I know you say dont throw a "dont be conservative but any changes smooth the map around it so that theres not drastic changes the car sees. I know the ecu pulls from 4 cells at a time but it makes the run wayyy smoother also how are you retarding by psi of doing a step retard

jdmracer90 06-17-2009 05:17 PM

right now im running all motor
but i have the parts to install.
im just trying to find some info to see if
ima have any huge problems on this setup

so theres going to be a need to retard the timing around 12-15 degrees?
on boost? what i meant when i said dont say be conservative was just dont say that,
like if you got some more info besides just saying "be conservative" then i would love to hear it and thanks for replying =[/]

That is a lot of compression for FI.

You will have to retard like a retard.

2BarRacing 06-17-2009 07:32 PM

no what i said is that if you look at your fuel map start out by retarding say 1.25* per psi that should be a good start also with your fuel set the comp efficiency at around 130% that should net you a nice rich safe base map to start with

thank you very much for your help,
sorry if i sound like a complete noob but what does comp mean?
do you mean compression or ???

2BarRacing 06-17-2009 09:57 PM

compressor aka the money side of the turbo.

ohhh okay thanks for the input.

apples to oranges.. but i boost my vw with roughly 10.5-10.8to1 compression, on pump gas.

there are a lottt of high compression turbo builds out there. There are a few 13:1 compression cars. My next build will be 11:1.

just have to have a gooooooood tuner and sleeves will help , lol

a lot of power at lower boost.
