I checked out the FAQ but I wanted to be sure, so my question is, will an HF / STD manifold mate up to an LS?

NO ls is a B-series hf/std is d-series.

you can make it fit by slotting a couple of the mounting holes and some minor port matching. a friend of mine is using an apexi d-series manifold on his b18 block and that's all he had to do. he's making mad power too.
