Re:hf -????'s
Ya know I could of swore I saw 4 valve reliefs on a D15B6 one time when I threw it in the garbage.. wasnt paying much attention... But, I did a headgasket awhile back on a D15B8 (cx engine) basically a newer version of the HF engine, with 8 valves, and it did have 4 valve releifs on the pistons. I know someone has a write up on this somewhere, I think it was honda-swap.com ?

thanks for the info! how long do you think it would stand 7-8 pounds with a b7 head on it. i got a whole b6 and i think i'm gonna put it in my sol with the b7 head on it use'n a y8 head gasket while i build my z6.

Re:hf -????'s
i know this for a fact. the HF does *NOT* have 4 valve reliefs, it has two.
It is true, however, that the CX engine, D15B8 has 4 valve reliefs like any other 1.5 with flat tops. I've taken apart two 88 HF engines and both of them had a very slight dome to the piston, and it only had 2 valve reliefs. |
Re:hf -????'s
yes only 2 valve reliefs.. I even seen a set from honder that had two INTAKE ONLY valve reliefs... from an older carb'd honder..
