It won't work and no its not worth your time to try.

I actually know of 2-3 setups with the HF manifold and AC. And all of them use the IHI RHB5 turbo, its really the only one you can use with the HF mani. Of course you have to face the compressor side towards the Right hand side, and use the factory DP housing from the RHb5 (so it will clear the ac compressor), Its a tight fit, but people have done it.

As far as using a TD04, or 14b, thats going to be pretty tricky.

I agree with abaz.
I believe that it was scotisi that had his like that.If I remenber right he made his adapter plate so it would sit a few degrees cocked to one side.

Theres 2 Scots that post regularly and I know it was one of the 2 :-\

Okay, well if people have done it with the IHI RHB5 turbo, then I think I will look into getting that one. I gotta friend thats going to lend me his TD04 over the break so I will mess around with that and see what I come up with. I need to get my hands on a IHI RHB5 turbo though. THanks guys.

btw the IHI rhb5 from the Probe is easier to work (using ac) with than the rhb5 from the subaru.

Oh thanks for the tip. I just check out the turbo on ebay and i was looking at the different sets on HMT projects (very helpful) and it's not looking good for me and my A/C :'( im not gunna quit yet though, but I might have to start looking in between couch cushions to start my a/c manifold fund.

Man, buy a head flange, buy 2 T's and 2 90 degree elbows and make your own log manifold. Material will be around 60-75 bucks, and it shouldnt cost more than 30-50 bucks to have someone weld it up for you.

2000 dx w/ a/c and hf manifold=here...check the link in my sig for ideas.

like jeff said...you'll need to use a smaller turbo rhb5 or td04...maybe tdo5 sized turbos and get real creative. you're installing on a y7 anyway and anything much larger will be far too laggy anyway. you'll need to relocate your condensor fan to the front and rotate the turbo to have the inlet or downpipe clear the a/c compressor (depending on which way you decide to install it). i have my compressor facing the a/c compressor and it's rotated to clear so i wouldn't have the downpipe right next to the a/c and the amount of block webbing i would've had to grind out would have been too much. now if i had thought about getting a plain exhaust manifold flange and using it as a spacer i could've flipped it around, but again it would've place the downpipe right next to the a/c compressor and probably shortened it's lifespan.

if you have access to a welder and can weld i would suggest making a manifold, but if you're in the same situation as i was...a lot of patience, creativity, and positioning.

good luck...hope that helps!

Yea, thats huge help and great info. I will probably do the same thing that you did or very similar. do you have any more pics of you setup? Thanks.
