hey guys give me some help!

alright guys first off let me start by saying that this site is ------- awesome, and although ive a dsm guy for the past 2 yrs ive finally seen the light :) :)

anyways what im going to be doing is turboing a zc motor this winter. and i am pretty knowledgable when it comes to the whole turbo and stuff...but i do have a few questions that only you guys that have tried different products can answer. so here it goes.

which turbo to use? most seem to use the t-25, me myself i love the 14b. its pulles alot harder and is a pretty good turbo. but from what i hear its difficult to mount and what not. also i talked to a guy from honda village (around pittsburgh) and hes supposed to know his ----, and he said that a t-25 will spool to quick going down the road and that it would detonate the motor. but if everyone is using that turbo...hes gotta be wrong.

i also want to run dsm 450 injectors and a s-afc. do you guys think that this will be enough management to run 8lbs of boost. i think that this setup is fairly simple to work with and id like to use this. any opinion though would be great.

this is all going into a 90crx si, do i have to change the radiator and cooling fan? i just want to make sure of everything that i got to get. :) :)

o2 sensor housing, im not clear on that, can you use the stock housing or do you have to buy one, and if you do where can i get one from.

thanks guys for the help i just want to make sure that i got everything right before i dive into this setup.

1. I personally have never used the T25, but your right, there are plenty of people that use it around here to make me think that it should be ok. I use a T3 and it spools great all the way up to redline and never stops giving power. As a mater of fact, a T3 with larger trim specs would work MUCH better on that ZC motor you plan on using.

2. Might want a larger fuel pump to suply the 450 cc injectors. Also, you will need an FMU to go with the AFC despite what many people on here will say.

3. If I understand what you are asking about the O2 housing is correct, yes you can use the factoring 02 housing that comes with the turbo you pull and weld that to your downpipe. O3 you can fabricate your own. Doesnt really matter.

why would you need an fmu? a lot of people recomend against it and its true you don't need it, I went to cybernation in miami and they was doing rsx using rc 550cc ,vafc walbo 255lph pump, and a 12-1 vortech fmu, I ask why the fmu? they said its just for backup security, made me think that maybe I should use one because these guys are big in the business. I still dont think you need one, just like you dont need a missing link for less than 10 psi. and the ratio 12-1 means that it raise your fuel pressure 12 psi for each pound of boost, bad for your lines, bad for fpr.

Tunning purposes. I had to max out my fuel settings on the VAFC and I still ran lean. If he has the 440 cc injectors mabye he will be ok. I just like to have a good fuel system.

no missing link for under 10psi?...what are you talking about...if you are using an fmu as your fuel setup and no afc, you wont be able to boost at all really without a cel....and you dont necessarily need an fmu with an afc, and if you use one you would want a very low ratio one

Re:hey guys give me some help!

I was talking about a setup that includes a VAFC, and 450cc+ 255plh pump, but I'm still gonna use my missing link because I already got it, incase I desided to raise my boost past 8 psi just like the fmu, security!

Re:hey guys give me some help!

ok why would you use the missink link, it wont let the map read boost at all

Re:hey guys give me some help!

I dont know? maybe its because synapse advertised that it allows a smoother vacuum to boost transition, its kinda rough when boosting, and since I already have it I may give it a try.

Re:hey guys give me some help!

i cant see it working well with the afc, which needs to see the map voltage, since the missing link will not let it see boost at all...it is usually used with fmu setups only and i would see it only creating tuning problems

Re:hey guys give me some help!

okay....basically my question is this. i want to use a s-afc, 450cc injectors and yeah ill be going with a walbro 255 since i am quite familiar with them. but basically what im saying is...this should work good for management wont it? i mean dsm ecus are programmed to read boost so ive never had this problem...i just want to make sure what all i need. and what ppl reccomend. alot of ppl dont like the fmu and missing link combo..said they cant work out all the bugs?
