help with vitara and eagle build

what should my compression be at or around once motor is complete rightnow she hasnt run on the road but pulls 120-125 psi across the board. when i try to drive her she bogs down and dies when i apply the gas pedal...the throttle body is opening what else could it be?

120 is to low

Your rings just havent seated, go give it some good rips and check again

I dont think 120 is bad for one that hasnt been driven though

That may be right depending on the motor. The Vitaras make most D series have retarded low compression.

so get this why the hell would giving it some gas when it is in gear make it want to go dead? like if i stomp in first or second or just give =50% throttle it doesnt seem to respond...but when not in gear in neutral i have throttle response and the revs increase and it doesnt try to die...wtf? also is it common for the front main seal to leak...im pulling the motor back out today to fix that ----...wtf...i hope nothing else happens. anything you can think of to help i would surely appreciate.

Usually if you try to juice it and it bogs or dies, your timing is off. Check that.

yeah check your timing

i agree as well, my boys high compression b16 that we just put together is doing the EXACT same thing. We got it to idle, but when its in gear it wont go anywhere. The motor just stalls. He had his deck milled .080" and the head .020" so his cams are retarded by at least 6-8 degrees. Were waiting for adj. cam gears to see if it fixes the problem. Make sure you t belt is on correctly, and all your sensors are hooked back up in the right spots. Also check all your major grounds. Definately sounds like cam timing though

Bad fuel injectors have cause those problems in y stock Accord also. Popped in some new ones and it worked fine. Seemed like they went bad overnight.

ignition timing, not cam timing. although he could easly be off a tooth, but if your off a tooth its more of a lineral lag that you can feel all the way through the power band.

What motor are they in? Those compression numbers could be fine for a 0 mile motor... i get 155 across the board on a z6. If its an a6 motor... those compression numbers would be correct also (stupidly low compression on an a6... no offense)

Lowish compression on pistons wouldn't be a bogging issue, unless the tune was way way off.... so check timing like mentioned above.
