help with turbo setup

i have a d16z6 with like 180k on it...i am wondering if it could handle boost, i wanna run like 8psi. Could a stock z6 handle that, also what about injectors, ecu...all that stuff

i wanna go with the 1g dsm turbo/hf manifold setup, i just got some questions

Yes. that d16z6 can handle easily 8psi with that turbo, one of the most important part of turboing a car is the engine management

Yup get your car tuned right after the install and have fun after ...I'm also new to this and all these guys on here gave me great advice . I hope to start my install Saturday or Sunday ...good luck

first off theres no half assing when you come to the dark side hi let me be your welcoming crew. i say half assing because you will either pay now or in the long run so don't be cheap on certain things. here is a starter list.(oh and yeah def do the compression test if its bad and you boost you'll be taking it out in a month or 2)

1. engine management: this is a biggie. you can go the hmt style and do a vafc hack cheap but it will work. you will end up going to a chipped ecu later!

2. injectors: 450cc or 310cc dsm injectors will work. just run the 450s

3.turbo: make sure the turbo has very little shaft play for long term use. the hf mani will crack sooner or later. start saving for another manifold. also make sure you get the down pipe for that turbo if not you'll have to go on a scavenger hunt later to find it.

4. intercooler: a junk yard on will do just make sure the inside are clean and that it will work good with your placement. its useless if air can't get to it to cool off.

5. piping: you can hit up an exhaust shop for spare pieces. and if there nice they might weld bumps on the edges of the piping so the couplers won't blow off.

6. bov: any will do but the 1g eclipse sounds nice. if you can get one that has the piping connected less work.

7. couplers: get good ones cause the home depot special will only last for about a week, you'll be blowin them up left and right. try the pep boys or auto zone ones.

8.oil: get steel braided oil lines and do a brass nipple or sandwich plate nipple set up. the sandwich plate setup will work the best for no worries.

9. oil return: get a fitting for your oil pan and make sure the line doesn't bend. if you can try to use the drain that came with the turbo. !!!!no kinks in the return line!!!

10: do your own research it not being mean but you wouldn't believe the great info you will find out there. go to go for now . to be cont>>>>>>>>>>>

I would do the compression check. Find out how healthy the motor is. I once boosted my car at 210k with intentions on blowing it up and of course to learn.
