HELP! PLEASE, NO BOOST

Ok so I sold my turbo kit to someone but he's having problems getting boost. The boost gauge is reading boost (max 6psi so far), and the air/fuel ratio gauge is reading fine. This means the engine is getting boost and at least ballpark fuel. Why isn't there boost? His engine has about 260,000 miles on it, I told him that may be a reason. Please help.

Where is your boost guage hooked up to? And do you actually feel the turbo building power?

i sold the kit to my friend and he's trying to get it to work. he sees boost on the boost gauge (connected to the intake manifold) and the air/fuel gauge also reads normal, BUT he doesn't feel any boost. he says the engine is old and yes there is some white and black smoke.

Dude, what is your problem? Do you really want me to go thru and start deleting all your posts? Stop bashing the newbies.

First off, is the gauge functional? Do you see vacuum as well as boost?

Next, is the bov functioning? Does he hear it vent between gears?

Last, remove the cat and you'll see what's really wrong with that car. Maybe boosting an old warn out motor isn't the best idea. ???

Have hime do a compression check on his car. I garuntee that he is having a major compression problem.

thanks everyone (except robs99si) for the replies. he claims the bov is functioning. the boost gauge i am assuming works fine it isn't one of those gauges that also reads vac (it only reads from 0 to 15 psi). The boost gauge is telling him that there is boost (up to 6psi). I'm pretty sure it's his engine. Thanks everyone.
