:X today i felt like ---- guys i finally have everything ready to purge the oil feed and fre the car up so i got oil driping down from the drain flange everything is cool here, so i connect the drain hose and fire the car up, check engine light comes up as soon as i fire the car up, the turbo aint spinning and there's oil coming put from the compressor air inlet :o i quickly shut the the car down and and started crying :'( wtf went wrong?

sounds like you got a fucked turbo. you sure you put everything on right? post some pics.

i wish i had a digital camera, everything seems to be nicely in its place, it's also a brand new turbo and i heard that something could be blocking the oil drain, i gota say that i had to rotate the the turbine housing by loosing the bolts to have the oil drain down. other than that everything looks good :'( :'( :'(

where did u get the turbo from? What kind of fuel managment are you running?

Was it a lot of oil on the compressor side or just a little bit?

a turbo doesn't start spinning as soon as you start your engine. Some snails do and some don't, determines on the size and other things.

this is also true, i kinda thought he would already know this.

oil spitting out....my only thought would be that there is an oil blockage somewhere. you have your return pointing down, with no kinks correct, it doesnt flow down then up then back down...into your pan.

also, is there acuall oil or just smoke? if its just smoke...dont worry about it. it is just the residue burning off the turbo. no biggie.

the oil appears to flow out on the same rate as it goes in so yeah its quite a bit, i have the feeling of the return line been kinked but it's aeroquip steelhose with the fancy fittings and all that crap, i purged the turbo quite good before starting the car i let almost a full quart to drip down, im runninng a chipped p06 from xenocron with a basemap and im taping from just above the oil filter oil drain goes to the side and then down to oil pan it's definetely not a gravity drain lol, but anyways im gonna unplug the drain and try to blow on it, man i really feel miserable :X

well if your drain isnt going down thats defnitely a problem...drain line should be constantly going downward

;D i will try my best, and no aint a garrret or a greddy turbo it's just an egay unknown mexican turbo :8 , apparently a rebuilt or remanufactured one, quality is actually good from the outside who know whats going on inside, today i took a peek on the oil drain i can almost swear that's the problem, perhaps i think this way to make me feel ok lol i will find out as soon as i have time to get down there, and yeah the turbo did spin after a bit of throttle i did not boost but there was good vaccum at idle. i also noticed the oxigen sensor its still on the old manifold :1 lol would that cause the check engine light to come on??

i might get a decent enough digital camera this friday and post pics of my ghetto setup

did anyone mention that you might wanna make sure that your return line takes the oil into the pan above the level of the oil. Otherwise the oil isnt gunna go out too well.

to me it sounds like the turbo. could be the drain as well, but as you said its a ghetto turbo off eghay, which was SUPPOSEDLY rebuilt of remanufactured. sell it on eghay and get whatever you can for it, and try buyin another turbo. (if fixing the oil return doesnt work)

somethin you could do to check that the oil drain is higher than the oil, is take off the pan, and put as many quarts of water as you would oil in the pan, and make sure the hole you drilled is higher than the level.

hope you get it runnin right, dont get too frustrated.

today i took try blewing thru the drain pipe and it's impossible it's clogged for sure i feel much better now :D the oil drain its at the highest i could mount it in the oil pan but the hose had a rough turn and was kinked bad :1 now all i have to do is cut the hose so it goes straight down and pray, i realy hope its not the turbo. i'm still shopping for cameras and i was gonna buy one but i ended up replacing the oxygen sensor wich is 80 bux at autozone >:( that ruined the whole dang thing, i will get one friday for sure as soon as i get paid

You could always use a regular camera and have them developed and put on CD.

everything is fixed now and no oil leaks so far i took the car for a spin without boosting and everything is cool, man im so glad my turbo aint fucked
