help with my boost level

hmm, just wondering with my car the wastegate actuator is supposed to be set at 10psi however i can't seem to get it above 5psi, however my boost gauge line is kind of long so i was wondering if it might show less than i am getting with too long of a hose? i truly doubt it, but i guess it's worth a shot.
anyway i guess the next course of action would be to check my wastegate actuator arm to see if it's adjusted incorrectly.
any other things i should check right off?
also too my turbo xs rfl bov is fluttering when i shift, is that because it's only seeing 4-5 psi right now? or do i need to release some tension on the spring?

all help would be appreciated thanks!

Re:help with my boost level

you might need to loosen it a bit or because you boost levels are not high enough to open the rfl

try putting your boost gauge line T'd off your map sensor to see if it changes.

If the boost is staying low, check the wastegate actuator, ensure that the wastegate flapper is staying shut (nice and tight) so boost doesnt leak by.

How many washers do you have in the BOV?

i think right now that i have 4 washers in there, which now seems to me to be a bit much, also i'm not sure what abaz is saying because on a neon there's no way to tap into the manifold using the map sensor.
enlighten me please ???

chances are its accurate and your wastegate is the culprit.

4 washers are WAY too many, you should have 1 or 2 max. If ou can't use the map sensor use the FPR or another vac source comming off the intake manifold

Just make sure the boost sig line is not T'd from the same spot the wastegate actuator line is going to.

We just put one of those turbos on Pat BBKA's car and it was only boosting at 5psi as well, thats normal for that wastegate actuator.
