HELP Me! Greddy or T25 kit?
read throught all the post alreayd but couldn`t find the ans..
d16Z6...shot peen rod looking for 200whp..a some more top end should i get a greddy kit which is smog legal with td04 or a t25 kit i can get them both at the same price $1550 or ..is 1550 really worth it for such a kit with all the lines, charge pipe and stuff(no BOV and Ic) |

you really only have to worry about smog law if you're in CA, i think. you can piece one together for cheaper with an i.c. and bov. a t25 is small, you should go with a t3, i pieced my kit together for 1025 with brand new mani. and downpipe and afc. you just have to wait for different parts and ----

u can do a kit for about 1200 bucks if you do it right...
get a used t3 with internal gate one of em ebay manifolds custom dp intercooler vafc retard the timing a bit... should be fine. resistor box and 450 dsm blue tops will work great also.. custom is the way to go. prefab are rediculously overpriced for just shiny piping. |

t3 will spool slower but have the most top end.
take that greddy bs outta your head. u can't just use their turbo, u have to have there manifold as well... get a t3 from a thunderbird. |

u can keep your ac with a t3 turbo....
all the "good" kits like drag, revhard, max rev.. they all use t3/t4 hybrids... greddy=BOOTY good and reliable though. |

The Greddy turbo isn't to hot, the kit that they sell for the d-series engines is a piece of ----. Without intercooling, and a method of better fuel management you can only run 4-5 psi... with retarded timing at the dizzy its about as quick as you were factory... I mean you'd be boning up $1500 for 20-30 horsepower - is that worth it? :P
Even if you buy their kit you will still need a blow off valve, and intercooler. The turbo itself isn't to shobby, but it does suck with the wastegate they produced for it (bad bleeder and creeper). The kit wasn't designed for power IMO... it was designed for rich kids to put on their car, and say they have boost even though they're getting dick for power out of it lol. And yes, I know, I picked up the whole kit used for $500... and I'm regretting it every day ;) |

Gees all these turbo just keep "spooling" in my head.. 14b,T3,T3/4, T25 :-\ i am just looking at 200whp, has to be daily driven.. t25 i can get the whole kit again 1500($$) so which of the above turbo has aftermarket EM that accept AC |

its not the turbo that interferes with the ac its where your manifold places the turbo.
The bitch kits (ie. already made ones like greddy) will let u keep ac b/c they use a cast log style manifold that chokes hp and keeps the turbo away from the compressor. Go with at least a t3 if you want top end. btw t25 is way smaller than a t3 and a t3/t4 is even bigger than a t3. just thought I would clear that up for ya. but dont be a ----- at least get a good turbo kit like an fmax, or do it all custom fabricated. I have never seen a production mani for a bigger turbo like a t3 that kept a/c but it would be easy to get one made at a good exhaust shop. |

Try and find an adapter plate for your exhaust manifold and go to an exhaust or welding (make sure they have piping for it) with your car see what they can do to bend them to allow the turbo to sit out of the way of your AC.

i knida know the size of all thsoe turbos but prob is how bad would they lag(t3 compare to t3/4) and i live in LA AFAIK all the muffler shop are crap and can`t get that much done on custom stuffs

lag is effected by many things... your downpipe size, wastegate, and headers...
Don't worry about spool time if you're not going to run alot of boost it wont really be a problem. |
