hey guys, well i got a turbo from my friend but he doesn't know what it is.
i don't have pictures right now but i'll try to give you the best description. made by GARRETT .48 trim bolts on the the "14b" hf adapter plate. i thought it was a td05h but there are no markings saying that i would love to get more info on this turbo and how much boost can my a6 handle.. |

okay i'll try to get pictures up by tonight.
but i took it to a performance shop around SF to buy some fittings and a guy told me that it was a t25 turbo for sure. one of the "rare" .48 trim garretts. i didn't believe him one bit lol |

Like that? That's a T2small offa 2nd gen DSM. They may do ok on a honda, but you can do better in the junkyard. The good news is, a 14b, 16g, or any other bolt on DSM turbo is just a few bolts away. |
whoa, thank you tkelly.
thats the exact turbo i have. so you're saying the cold side from a 14b and 16g will fit the t25? |
No, between the T25 and 14b the turbine inlets and O2 housings have the same bolt pattern, and I think the oil and coolant lines are the same style. You can also directly drop in a T28 made for a DSM.
P.S. if you don't need the O2 housing, you should send it to me :D |
lol i would in an instant but i'm all the way in San Francisco CA =[

P.S. if you don't need the O2 housing, you should send it to me :D The oil feed line on a 14B/16G/18G/20G use a banjo bolt with crush washers. (12mm x 1.25mm : Fits all 14b, 16g and 20G TDO5 Turbo's, same old pal) ************************************* The water lines for the T25 and the 14B use the same size banjo bolts *I THINK* but you have to tweak the lines a bit from one or the other to get them to work. They are 14mm banjo's, but I don't know the rest of the dimensions anymore. If your using the Mitsu line's, your going to tweak regardless so biggie. (Talked to an old friend - 14mm x 1.5mm : Fits all Mitsubishi Turbo Coolant Lines) ************************************* The oil drain flanges are different slightly, the T25 is wide and uses what most other garrett turbo's take, while "mitsu" guys call the 14B oil discharge flange the "standard" if you get what I am saying. You can file out a T25 oil drain tube to fit a 14B, it just takes some work. You probably won't be using the Mitsu oil drain tube's so this might not concern you. ************************************* Just so it's openly stated, the 14B and the T25's have different compressor outlets. The T25 has the donkey dick elbow on it while the 14B actually outlets toward the hood and uses a J pipe that bolts to the compressor discharge. |
wow, very good info. thank you =)

heading out to the junkyard now! i'm gonna try to pick up a z6 oil pick up because i have a spare z6 oil pan that i wanna drill and tap. the a6 on i want to keep nice and stock lol.
so the t25 turbo that i have from what i learned so far came from the 2g eclipse? everything seems to bolt up fine so i'm just going to snatch whatever i can and make me car run! |

everything seems to bolt up fine so i'm just going to snatch whatever i can and make me car run! They make a direct bolt on it for it called the T28 that most any DSM vendor sells and there are lots of them out floating around used. A true upgraded T28 has a slightly revamped turbine wheel and a slightly larger compressor wheel. Some folks send their T25 in to turbo shops to have it upgraded but if it's less than $500 bucks, your only getting the compressor wheel and a rebuilt center section, NOT the turbine wheel. The turbine housings share the exact same bolt holes as a standard 16G / 18G / 20G Mitsubishi turbo. (Please note that I DID NOT state a SUPER 16G /18G / 20G or HAHN 16G / 18G / 20G because those do not use the round turbine inlet found stock on the 1G / 2G 4G63T) So, if you ever want to swap one of those on, you only need to revamp your oil feed/drain, tweak the water lines, and change your IC pipes for the the different compressor cover those turbo's have. |
