There is a a T3 for sale on another board. Owner states " Garrett T3 60trim, was rebuilt and has upgraded wheel." He doesnt know the A/Rs, and says the only markings on it are "compressor side there is a (5-4) & a (17), and turbine side there is a (m-3) a (pt6) and a (b16)" Here are some pics. LMK what you guys think.

That's a .48/.42 T3. Maybe a different a/r on the turbine housing like .36 or .63, but it's a T3. Yes it appears to be a T3 60 trim compressor wheel judging by the larger than usual (in a .42 housing) inducer of that wheel. It's not that hard to upgrade it as the compressor backplates for the 45, 50, and 60 trim turbos are interchangable. He's an idiot for not just upgrading it to the .60 a/r compressor housing though. He must have had that .42 machined.

IIRC that compressor housing style comes off a Dodge, but the exhaust housing definitely isn't the oddball dodge. That being said, it's definitely not a professional job as they're not going to write on the comp wheel with a marker like that and they'd have bead blasted the turbine wheel and housings and if it was truly done right there would be balancing paint marks.

It may just be a 50 trim he's trying to pawn off as upgraded, but that looks a ton like the 60 trim T3 compressor and the 45 trims are super tiny. I'd say he's telling the truth about the upgraded wheel, and probably about the rebuild too, but IB he did it himself and just paid for the machining. Who knows. If it's dirty cheap buy it.

The only .36 I've ever seen were off of the 80's Rabbit turbodiesels, and they had a freakshow wierd flange.

Turbine and wastegate housing looks like a Mercedes diesel t3 which is a .48 AR.

This turbo is a custom hybrid. Like the ones I build.
it never came as-is on any car.

This is a Nissan Z31 Compressor side. Yes, a real 60 trim t3 with 0.60 a/r (The "NISSAN MOTOR" was ground out. it shows.)

Turbine is a .48 a/r mercedes with funky downpipe flange but still nice because less prone to thermo cracking.

This turbo is a good quick spooler supportable of around 260-280 HP MAX and then it's maxxed out, both sides of it but it will be lots of fun for those with power goals under 300 HP.

I would suggest to upgrade it with a watercooled center section.
