I just wrapped my header tonight.

My buddy ran heat wrap on his SHO on 16 gauge pipe for about 4 years and it never cracked.

I've only heard good things about it. Hew witey, Ghetto D did his manifold and the edges looked just like yours, and someone said you can get it to form better by wetting it first?

What is this a fashion show? :P I never heard about wetting it. The reason the edges are fucked up on mine is cause I reused the wrap. Usually when its new I can form it pretty tight if the foil isn't all fucked up.
See how tight the edges are when the ---- is new. Just keep twisting it like your trying to give it an indian burn

and how do you hold the wrap in place? a bobby pin?

Looks like it would be a bitch to make it look nice

Is this stuff expensive. I wouldn mind cutting down some bay temp. wrap the downpipe and te manifold, fiberglass hood might hate me if I dont

My dei ---- wasn't all frayed at the ends like that? Plus if you drive the car year round you may wanna coat that ---- cause the only bad thing about it is that it can keep in moisture but that's the old wive's tale. He's my old mod'd y7 mani that I wrapped and sprayed with high temp paint. She held up fine and keep the heat down pretty good but being that it was cast it held the heat pretty good and I could turn off the car and let it sit for a couple of minutes and come back and that ---- would still be glowing on some spots where I could peak through the wrap.

Exhaust heat is where your turbo gets most of its energy. If you allow the exhaust to cool, the volume decreases and therefore the velocity also. Keep your exhaust as hot as possible before the turbo. There is no bad side to header wrap. Spins the turbo and keeps engine bay temps down.
