Head Gasket??? Little Help Fellas...

Okay so I KNOW the head was lifting in boost doing a FTL then checking the rear to see sweet smelling liquid on the ground. I stopped driving in boost, but still drove. That was about 5 days ago. Now today I drove to work (MAYBE a mile away) and it drove fine. I go to leave 4hrs later and as soon as I back out, go to 1st and start to pull away I see my CEL on. ??? Then I drove home and it bogged BAAAAD. I didn't go over 30mph or out of 3rd. Seemed like the car wanted to boost at a really low rpm too. :-\ Anyway, I get home let it idle and check the engine. Nothing. Go to the back and I see puffs of what LOOKS to be white smoke going along with the chiming "WAAahhWAAaahWAAaah...". Then behind the exhaust; about an 18inch diameter circle of liquid (not like a puddle just wet surface area). Tried to rub my hand in it to smell and it smelt sweet like anti-freeze; HOWEVER, I have a biased opinion due to the fact I suspected my head WAS lifting and the head gasket was GOING to go. Also the car would sometimes bog a little in low rpm, but I thought it was the clutch slipping. Changed it and it still did it. Perhaps the start of it all? THANKS ALOT FELLAS!!! :y

Cliff's Notes: Car ran fine then later it ran horribly as soon as it was turned on. CEL. White smoke and big wet surface ring where car is parked to check while idles. ALL OF A SUDDEN. Bogged a little before, but now nearly immobile.

You have to check the code for starters. The puddle of water can be condensation in the exhaust from sitting. I wouldn't point fingers just yet. Check your code and see what is going on there.

so what CEL is it throwing? If you HG is leaking sometimes they will cause a missfire witch might be the bogging but that usually clears out. How low on coolant are you?

We talked on AIM and it's most likely his coolant has dropped to super low levels, which will cause the idle surging. The coolant dropping is most likely because his HG is shot, and burning off coolant.

Not sure what the CEL is for though, he's gotta check that. He just doesn't know where the jumper is on his car since it's OBDII converted to OBDI. Where would the jumper be in that case?

Yes. I have checked on a converted car. It works the same as OBDI.

I was told you have to "jump" it by connecting a 2-wire plug next to the ECU to get it to work. True? What your saying David is just plug it in and it's fine?
