Have you seen this turbo setup?

Just a conversation starter. Wouldn't the smaller inefficient turbo heat the larger turbo's charge?
Still something new to me. Your thoughts...

Re: Have you seen this turbo setup?

that sure does look fucked. bmw is developing a diesel variable twin turbo setup where the smaller turbo boosts at lower rpm and the larger turbo boosts at higher.

i dont know, seems like a lot of room for error if something was not to activite properly. like theres a bunch of vlave's that have to be on point :-\
i meen it seems a hole lot easyer just to have a single turbo setup or dual (but each having there own way of flow). these companies to me, seem to want to be different and come out with different types of stuff to get peoples attention to buy there product... when in real, it would be much easyer, safer, and more reliable to do it the old fasion way. a way that has proven its self time and time again.
just really seems like a cluster of maybe not usless design, but not needed. there design should go into engine performance and how to get the best out of a single turbo or dual turbo set-up.. wrather then just a turbo set-up itself.

to sum it all up........ a little over the top in my book
just my opinion

This is not an application for a single turbo. This kind of a setup can be pushing boost levels of 100psi. It's for a diesel engine.

Re: Have you seen this turbo setup?

Lookst pretty simple.
one turbo spools first and it;s downpipe goes to the other turbo and that one feeds into the other turbo's intake.
that will give you some major boost...compressing the other turbo's charge.
looks like the turbo that feeds the other is bigger. could be the same size to
