Unfortunately i live northern California where the cop's are dick's if you get pulled over for being to loud they send you straight to the smog ref which is Bull ---- but that California for you and a honda with a turbo just wont pass with the smog ref .That why i am asking about the stupid *** muffler i want to keep my honda and keep from being crushed.
By the way what state's dont have smog checks i am thinking about moving out of California.

That muffler is too restrictive, just like a flow master. I too live in NorCal, and I have a dynamax turbo muffler and a nice resonator. The car sounds pretty close to stock at idle, and fairly quiet while driving (doesn’t sound stock tho). However, even when I had a ricer muffler, I never got any trouble from the local PD, but I live in the city, so cops don’t care about lil things like a loud car...and i live 2 blocks from a police station. Hell, I even ran open DP for a lil while.

Oh, this is on an first gen Integra t3 turbo yada yada yada

Here in Quebec, when a muffler is too loud, you get a 151$ ticket, you simply pay it, keep your loud muffler and it's over. till next time.

try using a real catalytic converter packed with ceramic waffles (not high flow) and your good old straight pipe muffler will no longer sound that loud anymore. if you use the right size Catalysor, it wont significantly reduce hp. for sure, less than a restrictive muffler.

NA the various chambers of a muffler can help exhaust scavenging (where one exhaust pulse creates a partial vacuum which pulls the next, sort of how geese fly south in the winter in formation). In a turbo setup you want the absolute freest flowing exhaust (straight through magnaflow for instance) because the exhaust gases are all mashed together in one 'pulse' anyway because of the turbos interference. Anyway the turbo itself quiets down the motor's exhaust a ton anyway, go with the free flowing. I have a full 3" mandrel bent with gutted 3" cat and magnaflow muffler and it's quieter than my car was NA with 2.25" Apexi Dunk with all the guts in the cat.
