GT35/40R
I have fallen over a killer deal on a turbo but I need to figure one thing out. The compressor housing on this turbo says GT35/40R...that probly obvious at this point. But some dildo tried to polish the turbine housing and there are NO numbers left on it at all. Does anyone here know any way to figure out what A/R the turbine housing is without the numbers stamped on/in it?

Re: GT35/40R
Find the company and look how many turbine A/Rs there are for the A/R compressor you have and I guess just.....guess. Not too sure, but looking at what sizes are available will help narrow the gap.

Re: GT35/40R
Occasionally the A/R numbers are stramped on the inside of the turbine inlet. But if not, guessing sounds like your best bet aside from having a turbo shop measure it.

Re: GT35/40R
SSAC ! I dont think garrett or precision will have GT35/45 on the compressor housing, it will most likely say m24 ar70 or something of that sort, not gt 35/40

http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/5...oto0222ar7.jpg Here are 2 amost useless pictures that I was sent of the turbo, I can go meet the guy to put my hands on it, but I haven't had the change. It IS a garrett turbo and I know that it's a ball bearing. The available A/R's were .63 .82 and 1.06. The .63 and the .82 would work for what I want, but I really don't think I could even use a 1.06 on a B16. I will have to get a better look at it..the guy has NO idea what he has, so he isn't much help, but I thought I would at least run it by everyone here just to see...It almost looks like they tried to shine up the hot side with some sort of spray ----...He go it at the SEMA show off of one of the displays, I guess it's an older model of some sort, right after they first came out with the GT series. |
