Ppl, I bought a gt28r from a fraud on ebay and not only he ripped me off bigtime but the turbo needs repair and found a shop around here that asks 800USD for a new cartridge CHRA or whatever. I don't believe that this is a not repairable unit. I think that this guy wants to rip me off. Any help?

 

hmm i think the shop is right. I always heard you can't rebuild BB turbos, you have to replace the entire center cartridge CHRA or whatever it is.

yeah its not repairable, thats why he's replacing the whole chra.

 

What if I open it up and try to fix it? $800 it's a lot for a stupid piece of metal.

 

if you open it up i have a hundred bucks saying you screw it up more, just shell out the cash and be done with it

 

Get several opinions instead of just asking one shop. I would call a few well known rebuild shops and inquire. I hear great things about magestic turbo. Go straight to the guys that do this for a living and see what they say about rebuilding your chra.

 

Good luck man, that sucks but there's not much else you can do other than just pay the $$$ or buy a new turbo

 

i too have heard that BB's aren't repairable; which in my opinion is a pretty shitty drawback. Hopefully Blaast will post, he'll know.
