gt turbo update

yesterday i took the factory bodykit off the gt turbo, started smoothing the bumpers, found more rust (front bumper brackets totally gone, no biggie... and a 1" round hole near the fuel filler soon turned into a "needs a rear 1/4" after some HARD "prodding" with a screwdriver) removed rear wiper and motor and started smoothing the plastic panel at the bottom of the hatch .. marked out areas that need attention with yellow primer

so as it stands now i need new front wings, a bonnet and doors, repairs to both rear arches where the bodykit bolts through, and a rear filler cap and about 15cm all round cutting out and replacing and new metal welded in where the bumper brackets should be.. 2 days with a welder will sort out all the body.

need to get to the scrappy and pull the electric boot release off a fiesta xr2i so i can de lock the boot ...

finally got my spare engine and box..

project is coming along fast, so a big "---- you" to everyone who was saying "scrap it and buy a good/new car"

theres no point in chuckying a new car when for less money i can have something that i built and that no-one else has got

pics soon hopefully

ive just finished smoothing the front bumper, its smoooooth, no rubbing strips (that glue/foam is a bastard to get off) no chips and no scratches, no little bumps either... used 1 tin of filler (most of it was sanded back off though) and i must have inhaled half of that in filler dust (dust masks are for pussies) took 3 hours from start to finish.. its PERFECT, when i thought it was finished i gave it a guide coat of red (a contrasting colour i had kicking about) and found about 3 or 4 thousand low/high spots, flatted them all back and now you cant even tell its been bodged.. was a bit scared about the filler cracking and falling out, but i dropped the bumper and it hasnt so it'll do for me...

was going to do the back bumber but ive got no money (at all) no bodge and my arms ache

oh, and i also had a play around for mounting my sexy front mount intercooler (council estate nicked-from-scrappy special) off a rover 820 tdi, its about the size of a sierra cosworth 2wd cooler but its all alloy, because of the shape of the end tanks and more importantly how the inlet and outlet are placed it will have to go infront of the rad, slightly (about 150mm) to the passenger side, the stock size pace ic will still be used, but instead of coming out of the pace and into the carb the air will go straight down, into the rover ic, across the radiator, back in under the front x member and up over the rocker cover into the carb neck... i'll have to cut up one of the existing charge pipes to use as couplings and use 2.5" dia stainless tubing for the rest...

Just think, a picture is worth a thousand words. So as of this post you have "typed" about 3 pictures and I still don't have a clue what your talking about. ???
What Im really looking for is visual pictures with no verbal pictures. Don't tell me, show me...........and so on.
