Got my X-mas present!!! Greddy Type-S BOV!!!
 

so i just got my x-mas present from my girlfriend and its a greddy type-s bov!!! ...ebay style but w/e!!! lol but anyways it didnt come with any instructions but ive read in a few forums and some say to just install the upper bigger outlet to a vacum line and leave the bottom smaller one alone and others say to install the upper one and to run the lower smaller one back into the charge piping??? does anyone know the correct way to insatll it???

ive also heard to run the small one to the charge piping. supposed to help with higher boost. but i dunno. running the top one alone will be fine

I only ran the top, the bottom port is supposed to create a quicker response.

you run the top bigger one to the intake plenum. the small one can be left alone if you want the chirp/whistle sound and if you hook it up between the turbo and the throttle body somewhere and turn the adjustment screw way in. it make the fluttering sound.

Fluttering is compressor surge. Type S are supposed to flutter.

wait wait wait. If you hook up teh bottom outlet to the charge pipe before the TB, it will cause it to release air in a flutter? I love fluttering bovs. I Was getting sick of my type S whistle.

yea my'n isnt in yet but i cant wait....all i have left is intercooler and fmu...i kno i kno fmu, but i cant get ahold of anyone in washington to chip and tune my ecu with trubo edit.

ya i got a type s and it only flutter sometimes when i hit the right of psi but other than that i love it :y i wish it would flutter all the time though

so wait what you mean by hookin it up to your charge pipe if i run a vacum line to the small one where you i put it because i love the flutter

The bottom nipple should be hooked up to a "boost only" source. i.e. your turbo outlet. Made a huuuge difference on my S13.

I just ordered myself a Type RS yesterday. I keep finding sound clips with big veriations in the sound. I hope it doesn't sound like ---- on my car.

i got the knockoff Type S.. i pulgged the bigger one to the turbo outlet and it always flutters. i would like to hear the chirp/whistle too ill try that later when i find a vacuum port on my y7 throttle :)

I got a freddy type s kit from ebay..... Got the top nipple plugged to manifold and bottom empty and it was always fluttering at 5-6 psi when i had the spring to like 3/4 hard.

I upped the pounds to 9 and it whistle loud first then flutters and stops. Not sure if putting it harder would make it flutter instead of whistle or if the other way around.

Also not sure if i want the whistle or the flutter... Flutter is cute and all but that whistle is twice as loud and can be heard in cars that claim to be sound proof (lexury cars).

I would love to know what to do with that bottom nipple.I assume it works just opposite of a wastegate.
