Got my Turbo today...

Well got my first turbo today... I have installed a few Aftermarket kits but i havent worked with a stock turbine off a DSM yet... i have tried the search engine and F&Q's but no luck... i got a Mitsubishi TE04H off of a buddy... it is brand new from a Dodge dealership (i pulled it out the plstic wrap)... what im wonting to know is on the Turbine Compressor housing there are 2 Vacum hook up's... i dont know what to hook onto these... this turbo will be on my Daily Driver and im running the stock internal wastegate, No intercooler, and just a cheap Blow off Valve off Egay... So all i should have to hook up is the Blow off and Wastegate right... what do i do with these 2 hookup's??? Also i think this turbo is Water cooled as well as Oil... from what i hear some DSM turbo's have coolent lines that cool the turbo as well as the oil lines??? if so should i block these lines off or just not worry about them???Thanks guys....

Re: Got my Turbo today...

what is the whole point of making 2 cooling points on a turbo??? besides Oil and Coolent both get extremly hot so it will hurt the performance...

you are right dont run either coolant or oil to it. Just plug the drain fill it with cooking lard and cap off the top.

What??? ok im not that stupid i was just saying because of oil and coolent being so hot the Turbo wont performe at its best right???what i was meaning by that is you would think someone would make a seconadry system that is cooler and not hot from the engine... Also depending on how well Oil Coolers work to... the question is hooking up the Coolent lines is that important or no??? and how would i go about doing that with puttin this on a non turbo application??? Do you splice int a heater hose or what???

plug one of the compressor nipples with a rubber cap. or use a piece of hose, zip tie and a bolt.
route the other nipple to the wastegate. run the boost gauge to the intake manifold.
you could get away with just running the oil lines. just make sure you let the car idle to prolong the life of the turbo.
water lines are easy to hook up and don't cost much. but it's up to you.
good luck.
