Re: good turbo for GSR motor!
did any of you actually bother to look at the compressor map before going off about its inadequecy?
no offense, but if you can't get a 14b to hold boost to redline on a d-series, then it's your fault, not the turbo's. you may want to check your pipes cuz it's pretty obvious you have a leak somewhere. info like what's posted here is why i stopped coming here a long time ago. the 14b is an excellent match for a stock GSR motor, provided the exhaust housing is ported or swapped to a 7cm. i don't see anyone posting in this thread who has firsthand experience to back up what they're saying, only "so and so told me" or "i've read." hearsay is not information. oh, and i'm well aware that i'm an -------. no need to post to remind me. |
Re: good turbo for GSR motor!
Did a setup on a gsr an well if they would have opted to finish the fuel management it would have worked very good.I used a .60 .63 off a tbird manual trans. Just my 2 cents worth.....

Re: good turbo for GSR motor!
a 14b would suck mad cock on a gsr, the stock Greddy turbo "16g" works ok, but if want a nice turbo that is going to perform well a Sc61 is the way to go or a cheaper larger hybrid.

Re: good turbo for GSR motor!
I had an 18G on my stock b18a. actuator wouldn't hold boost properly after 6k (not that I had much more to rev after that, but you know..). it was a good match, but begged for more rpm. with the upgraded exhaust housing to go to an external wastegate, I'm sure you could make mucho power.

Re: good turbo for GSR motor!
i really thought my t3/t4 60 trim was a great turbo for my stock block b18c.
